Policy document
Also called policy bond, contract.
The contract itself. The only document that states what you have actually bought.
The policy document sets out the terms, exclusions, conditions and benefits of your cover. It is issued after the insurer accepts the application.
Where anything on a website, a brochure or in conversation differs from the policy document, the policy document governs. It is also the trigger for the free-look period, which runs from the date you receive it.
