Paid-up value
Also called reduced paid-up.
A reduced sum assured that continues after premiums stop, once enough have been paid.
When a savings-type policy has received premiums for long enough, stopping payment does not extinguish it. It converts to a paid-up policy with a reduced sum assured, which continues without further premiums.
Pure term plans do not generally acquire a paid-up value.
