Nominee
Also called nomination.
The person you name to receive the payout on a death claim.
The nominee is who the insurer pays. Naming one, and keeping the details current, is the single most practical thing a policyholder can do to make a claim straightforward for their family.
If the nominee is a minor, an appointee must also be named to receive the money on their behalf.
