FATCA and CRS
Also called Common Reporting Standard.
Tax-reporting declarations required where an applicant has a foreign tax connection.
FATCA is the United States’ foreign account tax compliance regime; CRS is the broader international equivalent. Proposal forms ask a set of questions to identify a foreign tax connection — dual citizenship, foreign tax residency, or a US green card.
Answering yes brings in additional declarations. It does not prevent cover; it changes the paperwork.
