Claim repudiation
Also called claim rejection.
An insurer's refusal to pay a claim, with reasons given.
Repudiation is a formal rejection of a claim. The most common ground is material non-disclosure — something relevant that was not stated on the proposal form.
A repudiated claim can be challenged, through the insurer’s grievance process and then to the Insurance Ombudsman.
