Calculators

Six tools that work on figures you enter, using assumptions you set. They run entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent anywhere, stored, or seen by us.

  • How much cover do I need

Income to replace, debts to clear, goals to fund, less what you already hold.

The one to start with if you are sizing cover for the first time.

  • Human life value

What your future earnings are worth today, discounted at a rate you choose.

The older method. Useful as a cross-check on the one above.

  • Retirement corpus

How large a pot funds the monthly income you want, for as long as you want it.

Every assumption — inflation, returns, how long — is yours to set.

  • Child education cost

What a course costing today's fees will cost in the year it is actually due.

The number most people underestimate, because compounding is unintuitive.

  • BMI

Your body mass index, and an honest account of what an underwriter does with it.

Worth understanding before you are asked for height and weight.

  • Applying from abroad

What actually happens to a non-resident application — the extra questions and who reviews it.

A decision tree, not a sum. It will not tell you whether you qualify.

What these can and cannot tell you

Each of these computes arithmetic on your figures, using your assumptions. Where a rate is involved — inflation, investment return, a discount rate — you set it, because a calculator that picks the rate has effectively picked the answer.

None of them is a quotation, and none reflects any insurer's product terms or pricing. What a policy costs is set by the insurer at underwriting, after it has seen a full application.

Three we have deliberately not built

Their absence is a decision, not an oversight, so it is worth stating plainly what is missing and why.

A premium calculator
There is no rules engine behind this site that could produce a premium, so any figure it showed would be invented. Premiums are set by the insurer at underwriting.
A returns or maturity calculator
It would assert what a product will pay. That is the insurer's contractual promise to make, not a website's projection.
A tax-saving calculator
Tax treatment depends on your own circumstances and on law that changes. Working out your position is advice, and this site stays on the information side of that line.
